Course Objective: At the end of the three day course, each student will have built an online shopping website. Each student will have loaded items for sale, and actually processed an order from initial entry to complete check out. Online Credit Card processing will be explored, and implemented where warranted.

Course Includes:
  • "Live" work station, that will have high-speed internet access. To improve learning, if student want's to use their own computer, we encourage them to bring it. - - However, please let us know this in advance, and plan to arrive early the first day so that we can configure your computer for access through our network.
  • A modifiable shopping cart shell program.
  • Detailed course workbook
  • Lots of resource materials
  • Lots, lots, and lots of hands on time. (The way to learn is to do it)
  • Class size is limited to 3 to 6 people people to provide for as much individualized attention as possible.
  • Each day 1 to 1 instruction is available before or after class.
  • Class day is from 8:30 AM until 4:30 PM
  • Each day coffee / snack breaks will be provided.
  • Lunch is the responsibility of each student (Lunch break approx. 11:30 - 12:30).
  • Course Pre-Requisites:
  • Completed "Building A Website", & "Website Maintenance & Marketing" classes
  • Students that have not taken the above classes, will be asked to demonstrate their website and computer skill level prior to taking the class.
  • Shopping cart example is built using FileMaker Pro databases. Familiarity with FileMaker would be very advantageous for all students.
  • The information covered in this course is primarily relevant to sites hosted by UD.NET as many of the built-in shopping cart functions and shortcuts used are specific to UD.NET servers only.
  • Student must be able to read, understand and speak English
  • This course will require lots of pre-work to gather the required information to input in to the Shopping Cart.
  • If student wants to have online credit card processing, then application for this option, must be made to the credit card clearing company at least 6 weeks in advance of the course. The card processing gateway is very company specific. Please coordinate with the instructor far in advance (6 weeks minimum) of scheduled course date.
  • Course Costs:
  • Three day class and materials is $1,500.00 per student.
  • Non-refundable $300.00 deposit required to hold spot.
  • If course is paid in full and participant cancels with 7 days notice, all but the deposit, is refundable.
  • If course is paid in full and participant cancels with less than 7 days notice, and a replacement for the student is found, all but the deposit is refundable.
  • Course Options:
  • Online Credit Card processing and other E-Commerce transactions must be provided by and coordinated by the banking institution. Gateways provided by company's other than Card Service International, may incur additional setup fees and are the responsibility of the shopping cart/site owner.
